Gina Carano

Gina Joy Carano (born April 16, 1982) is an American mixed martial arts fighter, model and actress. Carano appeared as the Gladiator "Crush" on American Gladiators. She has been referred to as the "Face of Women's MMA."

Carano was formerly the #3-ranked 145-pound female fighter in the world according to the Unified Women's MMA Rankings.

Carano starred in the cult film Ring Girls. Based on true events, Ring Girls is a fast-paced story about five American women from Las Vegas who take on the ultimate challenge of fighting the best female Muay Thai fighters in the world.

Along with Lisa King, Carano served as a mentor to aspiring female fighters in the Oxygen reality series Fight Girls. She appeared as "Crush" on the NBC show American Gladiators, in which she also starred in the workout video of the show along with Monica Carlson (Jet), Jennifer Widerstrom (Phoenix), Michael O'Hearn (Titan), Tanoai Reed (Toa) and Don "Hollywood" Yates (Wolf). The DVD was released in December 16, 2008. She is also featured in the Michael Jai White film Blood and Bone.

She was profiled in a feature story for the ESPN series E:60, and was voted "Hottest Woman In America" by Big Biz Magazine in the Spring 2008 issue. On May 13, 2008, "Gina Carano" was the fastest-rising search on Google and third most searched person on Yahoo!. She has also appeared in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 as Natasha, a purchasable hero unit, portraying the Soviet sniper/commando in various cutscenes.

She was ranked as #5 on the "Top Ten Influential Women of 2008" list on Yahoo!





In May 2009, it was announced that Carano was ranked #16 in Maxim's Hot 100 list.


On September 6, 2009, she was reported as playing the leading role in a new spy thriller movie "Haywire" directed by Steven Soderbergh.









She is one of the cover athletes for the October 19, 2009 edition of ESPN The Magazine's Body Issue.

Kaitlin Young

Kaitlin R. Young (born September 15, 1985) is an American female mixed martial artist. She competed in the bantamweight division for EliteXC.

Young rose to fame after winning the one-night 2007 HOOKnSHOOT Women's Grand Prix with three knockouts in a combined time of just 1:45.

She then faced Sarah Schneider at Tuff-N-Uff: "Thompson vs. Troyer" on February 1, 2008, but was defeated by a second-round armbar.

On May 31, 2008, Young was defeated by Gina Carano at EliteXC: Primetime on CBS after the second round when the ringside physician declared her unable to continue.

Young returned to MMA competition on December 11, 2009, but lost to Shana Olsen via second-round technical knock out. Olsen had missed weight for the fight.

Young entered the Freestyle Cage Fighting Women's Bantamweight Grand Prix at FCF 39 on January 30, 2010 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was defeated by Jennifer Tate in the second round of their quarterfinal bout.

Young was set to face Jamie Seaton in the co-main event at Crowbar MMA: "Fall Brawl" on September 11, 2010, but Seaton withdrew from the fight. Young was then matched up against Liz Carmouche, but the fight was cancelled after Young signed on to take part in the filming of the Ultimate Women Challenge reality show.

Cristiane Santos ( Cris Cyborg )

Cristiane Justino Venancio Santos is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and the Strikeforce Women's Middleweight Champion (Strikeforce Women's Middleweight division is 145 lbs; formerly known as the Women's Lightweight Championship). Santos won the title on August 15, 2009 by defeating Gina Carano via TKO. She lives in San Diego where she trains and teaches at The Arena, one of the premier MMA gyms in the United States.

Santos is currently the #1-ranked pound-for-pound female MMA fighter in the world by MMARising.com and the #1-ranked 145-pound female fighter according to the Unified Women's MMA Rankings.

She later signed to fight for Strikeforce, which greatly increased the chance that a fight with Gina Carano would take place. In her Strikeforce debut, Santos faced Hitomi Akano on April 11, 2009 at Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Diaz. Santos came in six pounds overweight for the fight. Akano originally rejected the fight due to Santos failing to make weight but later accepted the fight. Santos defeated Akano by TKO in the third round.

Santos fought Gina Carano on August 15, 2009 at Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg for the Women's Middleweight Championship (145 lbs). Santos won via TKO at 4:59 of the 5:00 first round. The card was the first time that a major promotion had featured a main event between women. After the match, Santos hugged Carano, and stated in her interview that she had the utmost respect for Carano, and that it was an honor to fight her.

Santos next defended her title against Dutch standout Marloes Coenen at a Strikeforce event on January 30, 2010. Santos won the fight via TKO at 3:40 of round 3.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker stated that the next challenger for Santos would most likely be Erin Toughill. However, Toughill later announced her intentions to leave Strikeforce and plans for the fight with Santos were cancelled.

On April 7, 2010, Coker stated that Santos would fight again in June. She faced Jan Finney at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum and won the fight via KO in the second round.
