Sheryl Crow Want You To Vote!

Sheryl Crow wants you to vote and has teamed up with "Rock The Vote" to get as many people as possible to register for this year's election.

Current members of the Rock the Vote mailing list will receive access to a free download of her politically-charged song "Gasoline." It is also possible to log on to Rock the Vote: Sheryl Wants You to Vote to access the free download.

Additionally, the first 50,000 individuals that get three friends to register to vote will get a digital copy of her critically acclaimed album "Detours."

"I have been involved with Rock the Vote since its inception and proud of the work they have done," Crow said in a statement. "There are such critical issues facing our country, from high gas prices to climate change that we need to do more then just register to vote, we need to get our friends registered too,"

"We are thrilled to partner with Sheryl Crow to register young voters," added Heather Smith, executive director, Rock the Vote. "Bringing together music and politics is core to Rock the Vote's mission. Working with Sheryl, we can reach out to her fans and encourage them to register and encourage their friends, family and co-workers to do the same."

New Sheryl Crow Video - "Out Of Our Heads"

Here is Sheryl Crow's new peace oriented video called "Out Of Our Heads". I've included a passage from Sheryl's blog which expalins the meaning behind the song. She basically wants to reconcile the three religions and wants the past and war mongers to be ignored. I don't want to get too political here, but I believe that religion should be completely ignore altoghether as it is the source of all problems on this earth. People use it as as excuse to jutify whatever act they do in the name of...

"I'm thrilled that we are having such an enthusiastic reaction to the song, "Out Of Our Heads" when we play it live. It gives me great hope that we are all on a course toward waking up and embracing the future as our own. To prevent any misunderstanding over the phrase, "Children of Abraham," I'd like to take this opportunity to clarify what this phrase means and what it's inception was.

Abraham is a prominent figure in both the Torah and the Koran, as well as in the Old Testament. He is claimed by both Arabs and Jews as their ancestor. In a statement from my co-author, Bill Bottrell writes, "The song invokes the phrase, "Children of Abraham" as a plea for peace between Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. We point a finger at the media and the leaders in any camp who incite hatred based on historical feuds. In the song, all parties are gently challenged to reconcile the past and ignore the war-mongers." (Source:
