Leona Lewis - Timbaland Makeover

Leona Lewis has decided to take a new direction on her music by working with Timbaland. She'll be taking a step back from her famous ballads, and head towards dance music instead.

Timbaland is exciting about the project and looks forward turning Leona into an American R&B star in the likes of Beyonce and Rihanna.

“Timbaland can’t wait to work with Leona and make her feisty like Beyonce Knowles and Rihanna. “The ballads will still be there but the tracks will be racier and there’ll be dance floor anthems too.”

Other artists such as Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, and Michael Jackson are also eager to work with the X Factor winner.

According to a source, Michael “…hasn’t approached her yet but he’s a big fan of everything she has achieved. She’s massive all around the world and he feels this duet would give both their careers an even bigger boost.”

Mariah Carey, Leona Lewis - Broadway Show?

Mariah Carey wants Leona Lewis to play her in a proposed Broadway musical about her rise to stardom.

If chosen, Leona would portray Mariah, the first artist to have her first five singles top the US Billboard 100 chart, from her discovery at age 20.

“Mariah’s not sure if she’ll star in it herself. If she doesn’t, names being tossed around include High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens and Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria. But Mariah secretly likes the idea of Leona Lewis playing her,” one spy whispered to Britain’s Daily Mail early Wednesday.

“Not only is she exotic, she’s the only one who they reckon would be able to tackle Mariah’s eight-octave vocal range.”

A spokeswoman for the diva confirmed: “Mariah is in talks for a Broadway musical to be made about her life in 2009.”

Theater bosses are hoping to have the production ready later this year.

Leona will collaborate with new bands on her second album, however hasn't revealed any names yet.

“You'll find out soon enough, it's a different direction. There'll be ballads too. That's my thing. But it'll have a bit of an edge to it. It's always good to keep it fresh and try new things.”

Leona Lewis on Regis and Kelly!

Leona Lewis performed "Better In Time" on Regis and Kelly this Wednesday. It's a sweet song, but not extraordinary. I think her popularity really helped her for this song. Don't get me wrong she does have an amazing voice, but she should start releasing a broader variety of songs.

Leona Lewis and Jimmy page are set to close the Olympic Games on August 24th. The closing of the ceremony will mark the handover of the Olympics to the next, which will be held in London in 2012.

No one knows which song they are going to perform, but it sure will be interesting! Soccer legend David Beckham is also set to appear during the closing of the Olympics.

"It is set to be one of the most mind-blowing spectacles ever. David was elated to be asked to take part, as was everyone who has been invited. "

"Having a rock god like Jimmy Page and a singer like Leona Lewis performing together for the first time will certainly be something to remember.

"The amount of planning is staggering. It will be truly momentous - and a fitting send-off as London takes up the 2012 challenge."

Usually an 8 minute segment is provided to the next city who will host the Olympics. During these 8 minutes, David will arrive on a double decker bus and will shoot a football into the crowd. He will be surrounded by a huge crowd of urban dancers.

Leona Lewis - NRJ Music Tour Performances

A week ago, Leona Lewis performed her two hit singles "Better In Time" and "Bleeding Love" at the NRJ Music Tour in France. Her performance was excellent, however "Better In Time" isn't a very exciting song. "Bleeding Love" has been over played the same way as Rihanna's "Umbrella" last year. We all know she can sing and perform, but she should come up with more, or perhaps it's even the time for her to go on tour. Afterall, she is known worldwide by now.

Leona Lewis - In Line For James Bond Theme Song?

Beyonce and Amy Winehouse, better watch out, someone else is going for James Bond's upcoming theme song for "Quantum of Solace".

Simon Cowell is urging the film’s producers to select Leona Lewis for the new movie. Simon is convinced that she would be ideal for the theme because she has experienced massive success in both the UK and the States.

Originally, I think that Amy would have been best suited, however she doesn't seem to be capable of creating new music at the moment. So between Beyonce and Leona I'd say Beyonce.

What do you think, who would be better suited Amy, Beyonce, or Leona?

Leona Lewis Covers Blender Magazine

Leona Lewis is featured on the July 2008 cover of Blender Magazine. Blender’s warning platinum-selling songstress Mariah Carey to make way for music’s new pop powerhouse. However, Leona still has a long way to go until she'll achieve everything that Mariah has achieved. I do think it's all media and that Leona just wants to focus on herself and her music.

In the magazine she mentions:

“I don’t wear little miniskirts and low-cut tops. If you want to show your bits off, it’s up to you. … When I was 18, I had a few glasses of Alcopop — they’re bubblegummy drinks with a bit of alcohol — and it was gross. I’ve tasted champagne, which is gross. And I taste d wine, which I don’t like,” Leona tells the music mag.

Leona Lewis - A Hit In Germany Too!

Leona Lewis is conquering the world, from the UK, to the US, Australia, and back to Germany! Leona performed on German TV show Schlag den Raab and she did great, I am also happy to see her sing something else than "Bleeding Love". I think we've all heard this song one too many times. Don't get me wrong, I think Leona is a sweatheart and extremely talented.
